About Stephen . . . .

Stephen Joseph May July 1, 1992 – April 28, 2010

Stephen May was an extraordinary young man from Belmont, Michigan, and attended Rockford High School. Stephen participated in numerous school and community activities and sports, and was strong in his Catholic faith. Stephen’ life was cut short when he passed away from a tragic accident on April 28, 2010 at the tender age of 17 just a month before his high school graduation. Stephen was an honor student and participated in varsity football, basketball, and track. Stephen was very honest, had a great work ethic, and was a dependable and loyal friend to many. Stephen would have attended Michigan State University in the fall of 2010 to study business.

Stephen lived his life every day extending love and respect to everyone he encountered. He expressed unconditional kindness and compassion to all and was an example of those virtues to others by accepting and celebrating each person’s uniqueness. He always used the term “ELE!” or “Everybody Love Everybody.”

“Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them, humanity cannot survive.” Dalai Lama
